We process personal data solely within the framework of applicable data protection laws, in particular the GDPR and the German BDSG. This policy informs you about the nature, scope and purpose of processing.

- Master and account data (name, email, password hash).
- Billing and payment data.
- Usage and log data (IP address, timestamps, device information).
- Content data (manuscripts, covers and projects you create).
- Communication data (support requests).
- Application data (CV, cover letter, attachments).
04Purposes and legal bases
- Contract fulfilment and provision of the service (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR).
- Billing and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6 (1)(c) GDPR).
- Improvement, security and abuse prevention (legitimate interest, Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
- Consent-based processing, e.g. newsletter (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR).
05Applications
For applications we process the documents you submit in order to carry out the application procedure (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR, § 26 BDSG). In the event of a rejection, your data is deleted no later than 6 months after the procedure ends, unless you consent to longer storage.
06Cookies and analytics
We use technically necessary cookies and — subject to your consent — analytics services for reach measurement. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
07Hosting and processors
We use carefully selected providers (e.g. hosting, payment processing, email delivery) with whom data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place.
08Transfers to third countries
Where data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA, this is done only on the basis of appropriate safeguards, in particular the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
09Retention
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention periods.

11Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Ansbach.
